About Us

Our "dream trip" around the world began in the spring of 2021. Five years later, we can draw our first conclusions: it was worth it! A great adventure lies behind us, and many new discoveries lie ahead.
We are Sandra (62) and Gottfried (soon to be 67). The past years and the long passages at sea have forged a strong bond between us. It wasn't always easy, and leaving our comfort zone always means pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zone and being open to new experiences. After tens of thousands of miles under our belt, off-road journeys over rough terrain, and countless steps in the sand, we are now embarking on a new chapter. We are drawn back north to the wind and weather, and closer to our family and friends. Our destinations are no longer as exotic, but no less interesting. We will continue to share our travels on our blog and occasionally on Polarstep.
