Fit for the next cruise

Since our return to Knysna we have decided to get fit for the next cruise and to work off the Xmas belly. We have designed a training plan for us and try besides drinking wine and beer (wink) to steel our bodies. How did just the story with the inner pig dog overcome again? So there are the optional workouts like jogging, yoga, gymnastics at home and long walks around Knysna. Then there are the two workouts in the morning, on Mondays and Thursdays with Marsel or Jason from "On your bike" Personal Training. Both of them make us sweat and sometimes push us to our limits. We've been doing this since mid-January and feel very good about it. I think we are making good progress and we have lost a few kilos; what more could you ask for?

You are probably asking yourselves, or at least some of you, what happened to them? Well, on our route to the south and the Atlantic crossing we realized that if we want to sail for a long time, it depends on how fit we are and the older we are, the more important it is. Happyhour is also fun, but one does not exclude the other.

In the middle of August we start and the next 3000 nautical miles are on the agenda. On the way there will be gym on the foredeck and yoga in the cockpit. We'll keep at it, we promise!

morning workout in the gym

Dips; still with smile on the face

We have already learned the "jumping jack" in kindergarten

After the gym we usually go to Landsend on Leisure Island for a cool swim in the lagoon. A real relief after all the sweaty workouts..
